Completed in November 2008 this €6.5m development included classrooms, science laboratories, computer rooms, an assembly / dining hall, a sports hall, and ancillary accommodated. It represented a significant extension to the original single storey school building on the site which will allow enrolment to expand over the coming years to 800 students.
Of particular concern in deciding the structural solution were economy, durability and integration of the new build with the existing school. Building in a live campus environment was a design consideration as well as a safety consideration in the construction stages.
The project was successfully completed and handed over to the school in stages in time fro the commencement of the 2008 – 2009 school year.
